Microfiction Day 217 – ‘New Old Home’

“Do you remember that house when we were younger?”

“The one mum and dad used to tell us was where they would send us when we were bad? Of course I remember.” She shuddered as she pictured it.

“It had the windows with the curtains that never moved so they were covered with dust. And that candle holder with the melted candle in it. It’s like no one really lived there.”

“Oh someone definitely did.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I’ve bought it.”

“You bought the monster zombie horror house?”

“Yep!”

“Why?”

“It was a complete bargain.”

“Oh. Fair enough.”
