Microfiction Day 357 – ‘The Player’

“I’m bored of this character now.”

“Why?”

“They’re just old. They’ve completed everything. There’s nothing left to do.”

“So make them a special case. A ninety year old who can still run a marathon or something.”

“Nah it’s been done. I think I want to start again.”

“You know what to do then.”

He hovered over the avatar and waited for the big red X to appear over their heart. Clicked once.


“He had always seemed so healthy.”

“I know, but isn’t this what we would all want? For good old age until suddenly it isn’t?”

“Yeah. I guess so.”
